QMC Cares (Quality Medical Consultant) was started in January 2001 by a handful of physicians with a goal to manage admissions for a Miami-Dade group of medical centers. Over the years, QMC has evolved to having physician partners who provide inpatient management to numerous hospitals and skilled nursing facilities spanning across Florida.
The QMC Cares Team prides itself with an established, reputable, highly-motivated, experienced, efficient, and effective team that focuses on all aspects of inpatient services.

Job Summary
Maintain an accurate census and secure accurate inpatient hospital statistics for all assigned Hospitals. Analyze, track and record qualitative data on patients admitted, discharged or transferred to any assigned facility.
Make sure all information in database is up-to-date, accurate and reflects patients current status. i.e. diagnosis, room, attending physician, Observation vs. Inpatient status, date of service.
Maintain daily contact with site coordinators, physicians and facility to ensure we are collecting all information needed to bill all admissions correctly.
Responsibilities and Duties
Summary
- Checks eligibility for patients to enter admissions daily into database
- Answers incoming calls and redirects them or takes down messages
- Locates physician NPI, ICD 10 Data codes, and patient insurance information for data entry
- Contacts insurance or physician for pending information in order to process admissions
- Works diligently to ensure optimal work efficiency
- Prepares, updates, and files documents including reports and emails
- Contacts hospitals on a daily basis for discharge dates and patient information
- Participates in team meetings and responds to routine requests
- Help to retrieve from hospital databases any discharges form the week which are available
- Research and correct insurance information in our database to ensure billing is processed in a timely manner
- Help to cross cover for any team member as assigned
Qualifications and Skills
- One year of experience in a health care setting (preferred)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
- Must possess superior organizational and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency with database management and software programs required
- Fluent in English and Spanish
- Proficient Typing Skills
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour
