Child & Family Agency (CFA) seeks a full time Medical Assistant (MA) to be an integral part of the care team for the Community Bridge Clinic, an outpatient primary care medical clinic at CFA. The MA performs assigned clinical duties (vitals, point-of care testing, screening questionnaires, assists with any clinical procedures needed), supports the Nurse Practitioner and Nurse Manager to assure timely and effective care. The MA maintains strict patient confidentiality at all times.
Other responsibilities include:
- Efficiently manage the flow of patients through services provided
- Pre-visit chart medical record preparation and information gathering to optimize visits
- Participate in team meetings and huddles
- Assist providers with medical histories where appropriate
- Document accurately in Electronic Health Record
- Update computerized reminders in e-Clinical Works
- Review and update overdue health maintenance and open orders
- Schedule future visits for providers
- Participate in proactive population management including sending template letters, calling to schedule appointments by telephone, and maintaining future scheduled appointments
- Accept and/or transfer vaccine shipments as needed following current CDC storage and handling guidelines under direction of supervisory staff
Minimum qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required. Graduation from an accredited medical assistant program.
- Certified Medical Assistant
- Minimum of 1-year experience as a Medical Assistant and administrative duties in a clinical setting (medical setting preferred).
- Must maintain Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers
