Job Description
General Summary: The Foodservice Business Advisor supports the retail foodservice program, foodservice team, and foodservice customers. This position works closely with the Foodservice Sales Developers (FSDs) to onboard new foodservice business, and with customers to perform key customer business reviews, update menu and retail pricing, perform cost of goods analysis, and in-store training for quick service restaurant concepts in convenience stores and markets. The territory for this position is in the Central Valley from Bakersfield to Merced. Mileage will be reimbursed at the IRS rate.
Essential Job Functions:
Foodservice coordination and Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) Trainer - Daily/Weekly functions to include:
- Manage schedule and route to perform key customer foodservice business reviews and trainings
- Travel to areas scheduled for support
- Lead in-store training for new concepts and QSRs
- Conduct foodservice business reviews with key customers
- Advise customers on menu selections, product gaps, and SRPs in foodservice business reviews
- Set appointments with customers and share calendar with FSDs
- Work closely with FSDs on timing of new openings and individual project details, rearrange schedule as needed when timeframes change
- Communicate with FSDs and customers to manage and prioritize customer projects and trainings
- Assessing new QSR locations to place stocking order, set training schedule for store employees, and determine length of training needed on a case-by-case basis
- Forecast new business with purchasing to facilitate QSR opening, check for, and fill any outs on stocking order
- Consult with customer on custom foodservice graphic projects and work with graphics department and print company on project details and costs
- Communicate with TSMs on transfer of duties and follow-up when a training and opening are completed, and on any follow-up needed from TSM, discovered during business reviews
- Submit stocking orders for foodservice products
- Perform cost of goods analysis and updates in Excel
- Advise customers on new foodservice products
- Submit digital menu projects and updates to graphics department
- Submit graphic project requests for customer marketing support
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite with emphasis in Excel
- Strong communication & organizational skills
- Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Must be a self-starter with good self-direction
- Ability to work alone and independently for long periods of time in a fast-paced environment where details and resourcefulness are key attributes
- Proactive attitude
- Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license, reliable and presentable transportation and required insurance
Education and Experience:
- HS diploma or equivalent
- MS Office Suite with intermediate Outlook and Excel
- Outstanding communication skills internally and externally
- Direct experience within a fast-paced, high-volume sales environment
- Foodservice, retail, merchandising experience strongly preferred
- Experience in light training/facilitation of others preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
