POSITION SUMMARY
We are looking for a Part-time Medical Assistant to work alongside the physician and assist with patient care, as needed. This includes taking basic vital signs, preparing the room, verifying patient information and scheduling their next appointment. The Part-time Medical Assistant will also help manage the office schedule and assist with office duties.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Interview patients to gather medical history and update medical records
Gather basic vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, height, weight and pulse
Prepare treatment rooms and patients for exam
Sterilize necessary instruments
Manage medical supplies and materials and work with Area Supervisor to order necessary inventory
Take appropriate x-rays
Performs administrative tasks and must be cross-trained on front desk responsibilities to provide support when needed
QUALIFICATIONS/ EDUCATION/ CRITICAL SKILLS
High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred
Medical Assistant certification with 2 years in a healthcare position desired - but willing to train the right individual!
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Committed to continuous performance improvement
Patient-focused with the ability to work independently
Capability to adapt quickly and thrive in a fast-paced environment
SCHEDULING
Must be flexibility from Monday-Friday with alternating Saturday availability to match the practice hours of operation. Typical schedule is 4-12 hour shifts.
