The Inventory Manager will be responsible for the inventory in our distribution centers in Norcross, GA and Perris, CA. Under general supervision, the Inventory Manager will partner with operations and accounting teams to help build, monitor, and maintain efficient processes and procedures relating to inventory management. This position will assist in monitoring and maintaining slotting assignments for storage and picking efficiency improvement. The successful candidate enjoys problem solving, is a team player and capable of researching and recommending opportunities for improvement to drive cost savings and inventory accuracy.
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Evaluate current processes and identify opportunities for improvement that align with inventory management best practices.
- Develop and execute action plan to increase inventory accuracy.
- Make necessary item adjustments in both ERP & WMS to maintain inventory accuracy.
- Analyze product placement, demand, and pick frequency and adjust forward pick locations to maximize pick efficiency.
- Identify fast moving items and manage “golden zone” for more efficient picking.
- Develop and manage audit programs that support inventory accuracy.
- Perform physical counts as necessary to maintain sufficient product control.
- Establish best-in-class cycle count program.
- Collaborate across departments to ensure both ERP and WMS systems are reflecting accurate inventory positions.
- Communication of key indicators as related to inventory management that will assist management in understanding strengths and opportunities.
- Champion continuous improvement opportunities across distribution network.
- Act as safety manager
- Key holder with end of shift closing responsibilities.
- Other duties as assigned by distribution manager.
- College degree preferred but not required
- 2-3 years of related experience working in similar industry; additional education may be substituted for years of work experience
- Knowledge of inventory management systems and processes
- Strong analytical skills and enjoys problem solving
- High proficiency in mathematics
- Excellent attention to detail
- Team player with approachable servant attitude
- Ability to use assigned RF equipment, tablets, Computers, etc. to perform job functions
- Intermediate working knowledge of Excel (pivot tables, sort, filter, v-lookup)
- Forklift certification or ability to become forklift certified.
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Manual dexterity required for operating warehouse machinery
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Autonomous decision maker, able to make decisions with general supervision.
