Job Description
Hardware and Voice Communications Technician
Richards, Layton & Finger, Delaware’s largest law firm, is currently seeking a highly motivated and resourceful Hardware and Voice
Communications Technician to join our professional team in Wilmington,DE. The standard hours for this position are 9:00am-5:30pm. This person shall be responsible for installation and maintenance of the
Firm’s computers and related equipment and assist with maintenance and day-to-day administration of the Firm’s telephone system.

Essential Tasks Include:
- Install and maintain computer hardware and related equipment, including PCs, mobile devices, memory upgrades, etc.;
- Install computer software as requested, including operating systems and applications;
- Investigate and troubleshoot computer hardware problems, seek outside assistance from service representatives and other technical support persons when necessary and follow-up on service calls placed;
- Assist with performing routine telephone maintenance and day-to-day administration of the firm's telephone system, including troubleshooting problems, placing service calls, and following up with telephone service personnel;
- Work with building contractors and equipment vendors to coordinate installation of new equipment, wiring, etc.;
- Maintain the computer equipment inventory database and verify the location of the equipment;
- Maintain databases for user workstations and service calls;
- Assist with setting up conference rooms and litigation workrooms;
- Assist with relocating computers, phones and other office equipment in connection with intraoffice moves, new employees, etc.;
- Respond to User Support Center calls as needed and provide follow-up as necessary;
- Make recommendations to the Chief Information Officer regarding ways to improve performance of any of the Firm's hardware systems;
- Assist the Chief Information Officer in the acquisition and purchase of hardware, software and services;
- Assist with the evaluation and testing of new technology and the implementation of new systems;
- Assist the Chief Information Officer with system hardware budgeting and reporting; and
- Participation in the after-hours on-call support team.
Temporary Covid-19 Specifications:
- This Firm is currently working remotely, but all support staff will be required to return to the standard office setting and schedule upon Firm request.
- The Firm follows cleaning and social distancing protocols recommended by public health authorities and provides Personal Protective Equipment.
- Employees are required to consent to daily screening (verifying the lack of any symptoms) when they work in the office.
The Firm requires all employees to be vaccinated.
