Job Description
Medical Assistant Needed:
Podiatry clinic seeks full-time medical assistant.
Great job opportunity for a CNA or other Allied Healthcare Professional.
Job Duties include but are not limited to:
- Patient rooming
- Obtaining and recording patient medical histories, vitals, test results and other information for medical records while maintaining strict confidentiality
- Taking x-rays
- Assisting doctor with minor office procedures as needed with knowledge of sterile technique
- Stocking and cleaning exam rooms and waiting area
- Ordering labs and imaging studies as requested
- Participating in out of office promotional activities such as Skinny Raven Races, trade shows and other events as needed
- Autoclaving instruments and maintaining surgical instruments
- Coordinating the daily administrative activities, including scheduling, patient check-in and check-out, and patient medical record maintenance
- Preparing treatment rooms for clinical examinations and assisting where needed
- Ensuring compliance with all health care regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of medical terminology and basic insurance practices.
- Knowledge of computer programs and applications.
- Knowledge of grammar, spelling, and punctuation to type, review and edit reports, documentation, and correspondence.
- Knowledge of basic arithmetic to make calculations, balance and reconcile figures, and make changes accurately.
Skills:
- Skill in operating office equipment
- Skill in handling paperwork/filing adequately
- Skill in handling incoming phone calls and triaging appropriately
- Skill in written and verbal communication
- Skill in gathering, interpreting, and reporting insurance information
- Skill in trouble-shooting insurance issues and resolving appropriately
An Ideal candidate would have:
1 to 2 years of experience in a medical setting.
An understanding of patient care and medical terminology.
Knowledge of ICD-10.
Knowledge of podiatry and work on EHR, AdvancedMD is a huge plus.
This position requires a candidate who is organized, friendly, diligent, empathetic, and hard-working.
An ideal candidate will be able to take criticism and improve work based on that criticism.
Must be a team player and must handle themselves professionally in any situation.
Must have willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities as needed.
Salary is $19-24/hour contingent upon experience. Pay increases and bonus opportunities based on performance.

Computer experience is required. Candidate must be organized and able to multi-task.
