Job Description
Duties
The following are duties you may be required to accomplish but it is not all inclusive:
Duties and Responsibilities: Serves as the Information Technology Specialist with the responsibility of testing, diagnosing, and improving and maintain application software for the 319th Force Support Squadron consisting of 10 flights. Under general supervision, performs routine and recurring assignments in the delivery of Information Technology Customer Support Services for the 319 Force Support Squadron. Participates in the planning and delivery of a full range of Information technology customer support services to the organization. As project manager, performs site surveys of facility infrastructures for all large- and small-scale projects to guarantee requirements are with IT advancements and industry standards. As System Administrator performs routine maintenance, backups and security updates to 319 FSS workstations, servers and application software for minimum down time of operations. Using systems diagnostic tools and fault identification techniques, run test to verify operability and functionality of computer programs. Applies information security and information assurance policy, principles, and practices. Acts as liaison between network contractors, 319th Communications Squadron and commercial vendors to properly convey mission requirements for 319th FSS. Submits, receives and responds to trouble tickets from all users within 319th FSS for software and hardware issues. Develops training documentation for users to provide adequate levels of understating of productivity software, presentation software, graphics design, communication tools, database management and accounting software. Provides support for all 319th FSS catered events during on and off duty hours. Tests and directs the implementation of computer software plans; guides management in cost analysis of purchasing both hardware and software and provides recommendations on computer purchases ensuring equipment is compatible to 319th FSS software applications. Performs hardware maintenance and repairs on equipment as needed and conducts replacement as required. Coordinates data line circuit work orders and remedy tickets through the 319th CS; tracks progress to ensure work is completed in a timely manner. Position is subject to a Tier 3 Secret Clearance.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience:
Education: Must have Undergraduate or Graduate Education: Degree in computer science, information systems management, or technology management; or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in or one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
-OR-
Qualifying Experience: Installing and configuring firewalls (i.e., Cisco, Juniper, McAfee, or equivalent) and network operating systems (i.e., Windows Server, Virtual Machine (VM)ware, Unix, z/OS, or equivalent); experience working with Storage Area, Local Area, and Wide Area networks (i.e., setting up, providing technical support, and/or maintaining networks); experience using database query language (i.e., Structured Query Language-SQL, Data Manipulation Language-DML, or equivalent) to communicate with database management systems.
Note: Experience above should demonstrate these four competencies:
Attention to Detail-Such as testing network and gaming systems applying multiple test scenarios and documenting results.
Customer Service-Such as providing assistance to both internal and external customers; assessing customers' needs, meeting quality standards, and evaluating customer satisfaction.
Oral Communication-Such as communicating complex network issues to customers or field technicians in remote locations; providing training to newer field technicians; making recommendations on hardware upgrades.
Problem Solving-Such as while monitoring network traffic and patterns documenting network latency problems; then identifying source of problem; develop feasible approaches in resolving the issue.
Condition(s) of Employment: Successful completion and favorable applicable background investigation (Tier 1 Level) is required. This position requires IA certification IAW DoD 8570-01-M within six months from date of hire. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Security + certification within twelve months from date of hire. This position may require occasional CONUS travel for official business.

Education
