Work Location: Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Alliant Energy Tower CRGO
Job Location L: Iowa( Remote) Candidate should have their own laptop Duration of the contract will be 6 months but will likely be extended to 12 based on growing project pipeline.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Scrum Master supports the teams and the Product Owners by driving constant communication and rapid problem solving to deliver a great product and experience. It is the Scrum Master's role to lead and/or facilitate Scrum meetings, remove blockers to team progress and shield them from external distractions. The Scrum Master helps the Product Owners to maximize value, ensuring product backlog is in a good condition, prioritized and clear for all. The Scrum Master offers different techniques for effective backlog management and ensures product planning is a continuous process. The Scrum Master also helps the agile team coordinate dependencies with other teams and communicates status of these dependencies as needed. This job collaborates with other agile teams to identify, promote, and adopt best practices and lessons learned to optimize team and program performance.

Primary Accountabilities *Guides the team toward objectives, goals, and continuous improvement by using Scrum & Agile practices and methodologies. *Oversees Scrum process and coaches the team by facilitating transparency, inspection and adaptation of Agile Methodology. *Leads daily stand up, sprint review, and planning meetings to ensure full team engagement. *Supports Product Owner on release planning by monitoring the scrum team processes and scrum meetings to ensure quality and timeliness. *Works inside and outside of the team to remove impediments in the organization, shielding the team from external interference, to ensure the team remains focused on achieving its goals. *Leads the team to achieve its objectives by balancing changes in direction or requirements Initiates and fosters collaboration, communication, and team building by building a sense of trust and rapport amongst the team. Fosters close coordination across all team members, encouraging cross-training and support for each other. *Promotes full transparency by facilitating effective and timely communication to all levels of the organization, inside and outside of the team, including progress tracking and reporting. *Collaborates with Product Owners to ensure team execution and performance are aligned with Alliant’s near and long-term objectives *Fosters self-organization and growth within the team by carefully managing key dependencies. *Generates Agile mindset in staff and teams through conversations, coaching, and role playing exercises. *Leverages Sourcing department and manages vendor relationships and agreements. Ensures quality services are provided in a cost-effective manner, and agreed-upon service levels and contract terms are met. Supervision Supervision *Performs work under the general supervision of a Manager *Indirectly supervises the work of professional employees and contract employees.

Experience
*5 to 8 years of experience in Project Management, Software Development/Test, Applications Engineering work, Technical Support, or other related role.
*Agile methodology experience.
*Prior experience leading or indirectly leading others (Experiences may include project management, providing work direction, leadership experience through temporary assignments, roles in the community or external organizations, or other demonstrated leadership experience.)
*Experience in managing and executing solutions to diverse and complex business problems that enable business strategies. Other Requirements *Promotes and supports diversity initiatives and equal employment opportunity. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
*Solid understanding of agile principle, values, techniques and theory. In-depth knowledge of agile methodologies and techniques.

*Ability to promote innovative thinking and self-improvement within the team.

*Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Excellent communication skills with ability to communicate complex messages and teach new concepts.

Job Type: Contract
Pay: $70.00 - $74.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
