Job Overview
This position requires a responsible, self-motivated and ministry-minded individual to serve our students and staff. This person will facilitate the integration of effective, existing, and emerging technologies in order to enhance teaching and learning opportunities. The IT Technician will play a crucial role in monitoring and maintaining system performance and resolving technical issues efficiently in order to be able to support staff and students.
Duties
Provide day-to-day direct support to computer hardware and software, which includes but is not limited to:
- Resolve Help Desk tickets for problems reported by users
- Hardware and software support for all laptops, desktops and printers, and ensure school and church equipment is functioning properly
- Manage communication systems for school and church (i.e. telephone systems, electronic mail, facsimiles, online services, internet connections, voicemail, answering machines)
- Procure, refurbish, re-image and deploy PC’s and laptops as needed
- Multimedia support for projectors, document cameras and TV’s
- Provision and monitor student chromebooks to ensure proper security
- Load and maintain Teacher Dashboard classes and student groups
- Manage chromebook web-based content filtering
- Manage chromebook loaner program for damaged student chromebooks
- Create, change and delete user accounts per request, as well as manage folders and groups. Windows AD and Google Apps
- Technology plan to support all Middle School Teachers, 1 to 1 environment of Middle School students, expanding technology in all K-5 classrooms, and update computer lab systems
- Support digital integration for classroom and teacher resources or programs
- Annually maintenance of desktops and laptops to ensure longevity (this includes a variety of campus related software)
- Set up and reset passwords for students and staff (e.g. printer, chromebooks, TV’s and computers)
- Program school bell schedule
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred or relative certifications plus 2 years’ experience in a similar position.
- Must have good communication skills to interact effectively with users at all levels (including staff members, students, family members and outside vendors).
- Strong aptitude in troubleshooting and correcting is necessary in handling technological complications.
- Thorough knowledge of Windows Server OS, Windows Desktop OS, Microsoft Exchange, and Google Apps.
- Basic knowledge of mathematics.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
- Make basic decisions for the overall success of the department and communicates any suggestions, problems or issues to supervisor, related departments or teachers involved.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 per week
