An Insurance Specialist II is responsible for providing professional, accurate and timely insurance verification, ensuring authorization requirements are met per payor guidelines and pre registration for scheduled outpatient services. Additional responsibilities include accurate and timely notification of admission or observation status according to payor guidelines for inpatient and observation services, and accurate and timely indexing of all incoming orders.

Required:
- A minimum of six months of related experience is required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Insurance Verification and Financial Responsibilities: Verify insurance eligibility and benefits, calculate patients' estimated financial responsibilities, determine and validate authorization and referral requirements, and assess medical necessity of scheduled services according to payer guidelines.
- Documentation and Communication: Ensure adherence to documentation standards, maintain professional communication with patients and medical staff for payer compliance, and educate patients on insurance benefits and financial responsibilities.
- Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
- This is a remote position.
