Job Description
STEAM Instructor and MakerSpace Coordinator
This is a part-time substitute position within the STEAM department, reporting to the Department Chair and Division Head. We are looking for an innovative and compassionate educator who is interested in developing and sustaining our STEAM program.
Major Responsibilities:
- Teach Programming, Robotics, and Design Thinking courses within the STEAM Department
- Assist in ensuring the MakerSpace is supplied, organized, and safe environment for students and faculty
- Possibly assist in coaching our Science Olympiad team
Qualifications:
The successful candidate must...
- Have experience in, and passion for, teaching STEAM at the high school level
- Have solid knowledge of and experience working with the tools and practices in a MakerSpace including basic hand and power tools and 3D printers. Experience with programming languages like Python is a plus.
- Be familiar with and support the use of iterative design practices
- Be willing and able to work collaboratively with teachers from other departments on MakerSpace projects
- Be willing to learn to use additional tools and programs as needed.
