Position Announcement: NJC Dean of Career and Technical Education
Northeastern Junior College is seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to serve as the Northeastern Junior College Dean of Career and Technical Education (CTE). The Dean of Career and Technical Education supports the mission, vision and goals of the college and the Colorado Community College System. Currently, NJC Career and Technical Education includes the renewable energy (solar and wind), auto, diesel, industrial automation, maintenance and technology programs, welding, fire science, emergency management, paramedic, cosmetology and barbering programs. With the construction of the addition to the Applied Technology Campus, new programs will be added starting in the Fall of 2025.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be:
The Dean serves as the administrative director for the NJC Career and Technical Education programs and reports to the Vice President of Academic Affairs. The Dean works to ensure the college supports Career and Technical Education students through effective instruction and assessment, safety in instruction, alignment and efficiency in course scheduling, use of resources and management of personnel functions including hiring and timekeeping. The Dean supports the Vice President of Academic Affairs in designing and implementing new initiatives developed internally or by the Colorado Community College System.
What You Will Need:
- Strong track record of leadership and management experience with faculty, staff, and diverse teams. Ability to build partnerships with supervising government agencies, secondary and post-secondary institutions, businesses, and other key external stakeholders.
- Knowledge/experience with computer technology, especially MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to communicate effectively in a variety of settings.
- Refined presentation and facilitation skills.
What We Require:
- Colorado Career and Technical Education Credential, or a bachelor's degree in a CTE-related field.
- Progressive administrative experience with CTE programs, including overseeing Federal Perkins funds, state CTE requirements, credentialing, and industry.
- Teaching experience in a CTE-related field (e.g., business, IT, manufacturing, logistics, construction, agriculture, energy, mechatronics, industrial maintenance) at a secondary or post-secondary institution. Experience taking or teaching distance learning classes.
- Valid driver's license
What We Can Offer:
This is a full-time professional appointment. Annual salary is $68,000-$75,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
