Job Description

The Stewardship and Gifts Associate is responsible for creating and managing an effective database infrastructure to support prospect management and gift processing. Database management includes providing information, analytics, and support for annual operations, special gifts, capital campaigns, events and designated affinity groups. The Stewardship and Gifts Associate takes the lead in managing the database processes to ensure data integrity and participates in developing strategies to provide enhanced, accurate data reports and administrative support to further the School’s Advancement goals.
Role:
- Serves as lead point of contact on constituent database.
- Manages and executes functions associated with database operations, advancement services, prospect research, gifts, and records.
- Manages recording and reporting of charitable gifts and deposits.
- Assists Business Office with recording and reconciling cash and stock transactions.
- Creates acknowledgements, receipts, pledge reminders and other correspondence resulting from pledge and gift entry.
- Establishes and documents departmental policies and procedures including donations processing policies, procedures, systems and compliance with IRS rules and regulations.
- Analyzes and assesses information from local, national, and international resources; financial and philanthropy reports; references and Roeper files for prospect research.
- Searches and tracks income, assets, and giving patterns to evaluate each identified prospect's potential and propensity to give.
- Develops and implements research strategies utilizing ethical intelligence-gathering techniques of the information profession.
- Understands and applies CASE (Council for Advancement and Support of Education) gift acceptance standards.
- Collaborates with members of various departments including Development, Information Technology, Business Office, Administrative Team, and Board of Trustees
- Performs other duties as necessary or assigned.
Skills:
- Strong technical skills, including proficiency in database management, non-profit fundraising/relationship management software, and Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of fundraising and advancement systems and advancement management procedures
- Demonstrated competence in records and information management including techniques and principles supporting critical records systems.
- High level of discretion and confidentiality
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work effectively with diverse constituents
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including report writing, composing, and proofing materials
- Strong attention to detail in establishing priorities, meeting timelines, and efficiently accomplishing duties
- Ability to form collaborative work relationships and work independently
- Demonstrated commitment to cultural competency work in order to perform responsibilities perform responsibilities in accordance with Roeper's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- A collegial approach and congenial temperament
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in related field and three to five years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
