SECURITY OFFICER
Job Description
The Peoria Mariott Pere Marquette and Courtyard are adjoining properties and employees may be required to work at either hotel based upon hotel demands.
This job description provides a basic guideline of the duties, responsibilities and requirements of this position. The frequency codes assigned in the job description are: Rarely (less than I%); Occasionally (between I% and 33%); Frequently (between 34% and 65%); and Constantly (between 66% and 100%).
SUMMARY
The Security/Loss Prevention Officer will search for, respond to and handle any security problems, issues, concerns and disaster emergency situations in accordance with all policies, procedures and regulations to ensure the safety & security of the hotel's assets, guests, and team members. Responsible for safeguarding of hotel property, assets, guests, and team members. Duties to include but not limited to patrolling the hotel to ensure guests and team members are safe, answer in-house calls, assist guests and team members with safety, security and hotel operations. Initiate investigations, write up incident reports, monitor investigations and ensure proper follow up. Due to the nature of the hotel industry, this position may require varying schedules to reflect the needs of the hotel.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Diploma or GED; age 21 or older.
- Read, write and speak English fluently.
- Ideal candidate will have the ability to cross-train on the front desk to ensure proper coverage for desk attendants’ breaks, etc.
- Security/law enforcement experience(preferred)
- CPR certification.
- Ability to communicate effectively with the public and other employees.
- No employee will pose a direct threat to the health/safety of self or others.

Expected hours: 30-40+ based on occupancy demands
Shift:
- 8-hour shift
- 2nd & 3rd shifts available (3pm-11pm &11pm-7am)
- Ideal candidate will have the ability to float between shifts as needed due to occupancy demands
- OT as required based on occupancy demands
