Job Description
Job Title: Accounting Clerk
Reports to: Accounting Manager
Job Summary:
Supports the accounting department through various accounting-related tasks. Computes financial transactions, including payroll, accounts payables, accounts receivable, and other financial-related entries as needed. Provides analyses, summaries, reports, and analytical data at the request of the Accounting Manager. Ensures the accurate and timely preparation of monthly accounting transactions for management assessment. Assists in other accounting-related duties as needed.
NOTE: . Hours are Mon - Thurs, 6:00 am to 4:45 pm
Duties / Support Functions:
- Maintains open accounts receivables and aging records.
- Maintains cash receipts/cash position file.
- Prepares information for and/or assists with cash management and the preparation of cash flow reports.
- Reconciles bank accounts.
- Processes suppliers' invoices and disbursement checks.
- Assists Payroll Administrator as required in the preparation of union payrolls.
- Performs special assignments as directed by immediate supervisor.
- Provides clerical assistance to management as needed.
- Assists with year-end financial reviews as needed.
- Calculates daily payroll for union employees including determination of individual incentive rates.
- Posts daily earnings to employee record sheets.
- Publish daily efficiency charts for assembly departments.
- Tracks paid time off status and availability.
- Prepares garnishee and bankruptcy adjustments, and other non-tax withholdings and prepares check requests for appropriate recipients.
- Prepares special payroll reports and studies, such as overtime analyses, incentive rate adjustments, back-pay, specific incentive and/or “downtime” summaries, etc. upon request.
- Reconciles voluntary withholding amounts with company payments and collects past due amounts, as necessary.

Qualifications:
Education / Experience:
Problem resolution and communication skills are mandatory. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive data. Ability to calculate payroll accurately at a steady pace. Experience in payroll preparation utilizing computer systems. Familiarity with preparing and filing various payroll forms and other required reports. Ability to interface with plant supervisors and senior managers. Ability to communicate effectively with vendors and resolve billing issues or payment conflicts. Knowledge of computerized accounting systems and Windows-based computer systems.

Pay: $20.00 per hour
