Job Description
The Iowa Department of Revenue’s Lottery Division is currently seeking an Accounting Technician 1. The Iowa Lottery delivers value to the state of Iowa by providing responsible entertainment to the public, maximizing revenues, and maintaining the highest standards of integrity, security and accountability. Iowa Lottery tickets are sold in about 2,500 licensed retail locations in all 99 Iowa counties.
In this position you will be responsible for:
- Answering phones and providing customer service to the public
- Communicating with staff and retailers
- Receiving and organizing deliveries
- Performing data entry and clerical duties such as faxing, copying, and printing
- Receiving, sorting, and filing documentation and reports
Job Specific Competencies:
- Clerical Procedures – Word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.
- Customer Service – Principles and processes for providing customer services, including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluating customer satisfaction.
- Verbal Expression – Communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.

Graduation from high school or G.E.D. equivalency and three years of clerical accounting experience which involved the compilation, tabulation, examination, verification or recording of financial, statistical or related fiscal program using elementary bookkeeping principles and practices;
