Job Description
- Answer phone calls.
- Receive outpatients at the window with courtesy.
- Enter patient procedures into the CP schedule tool.
- Confirm orders are correct for corresponding procedure.
- Coordinate ordered procedures with other departments and physician office.
- Obtain information needed to support procedure pre-authorization.
- Refer any patient inquiries regarding procedure costs or other finance questions to the business office.
- Call patients to remind them of upcoming appointments and to reinforce any pre-procedure requirements such as not eating, no caffeine, no smoking, etc.
- Provide general office reception duties such as welcoming vendors, coordinating manager appointments, etc.
- Process procedure reports to include copying, filing, faxing, and forwarding to appropriate offices and individuals.
- Display excellent customer service skills.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Must have the ability to read, write, communicate, and follow instructions.
- Typing, filing, and computer skills required.
- Previous hospital scheduling experience preferred.
- Job knowledge: ability to work effectively with patients, physicians and their offices, patient families, and other hospital personnel.
- Must maintain professional and consistent communication with patients and personnel.
- Must possess excellent customer service skills.
- Must interact professionally with cardiopulmonary team, medical – hospital staff, as well as our patients.
