Data Entry Clerk
Who we are:
Established in 1977, we are a privately owned and operated, thriving Plumbing and HVAC company that understands the needs of our neighbors in Marquette and the Upper Peninsula better than anyone else. We specialize in residential and light commercial installations and offer all services in plumbing, water treatment, and HVAC.
We are looking for a motivated, organized individual to assist all areas of our company in data entry.
Job Description:
Swick Home Services is in search of a motivated individual who can sit and or stand for prolonged periods of time, works best alone, and is open to possible odd hours to fill our Data Entry position. The ideal candidate will be computer savvy with a keen eye for detail and be able to type information into our database. Understanding of confidentiality is a must.
Job Duties and responsibilities:
With this being a new position there is a lot of room to make this your own. This position is subject to change as we find what works and does not work for both the company and the individual.
· Make templets for other departments of the company
· Input data from paper forms into our system using keyboard, data recorders, and scanners
· Type in data from customers
· Verify data by comparing it to source documents
· Update existing data
· Retrieve data from the database or electronic files as requested
· Perform regular backups to ensure data preservation
· Sort and organize paperwork after entering data to ensure it is not lost
· Inventory
Skills, Abilities, and Qualifications:
· Professional and courteous
· Fast typing skills
· Working knowledge of office equipment and computer hardware
· Basic understanding of databases
· Patience and endurance to sit/stand behind a desk all day is a must
· Detail oriented with the ability to work independently primarily on your own in your individual space
· Basic computer skills including: Proficient with using Microsoft outlook, excel, and word
