Job Description
Job Title: Part Time - Security Officer (Overnights & Weekends)
Job Summary: Provide security to Kauffman Stadium facility with a service attitude towards employees and guests of the Kansas City Royals. Staff will be trained in security and safety for the stadium and surrounding grounds to protect against fire, theft, vandalism, terrorism, and illegal activity. Various guard positions include front lobby receptionist, camera surveillance operator, and staff to do routine patrols throughout the stadium and complex. This is a Part Time position that requires weekend and overnight availability, so flexibility is a must.
Position Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
- Greet employees and guests with a smile and friendly attitude
- Knowledge of Kauffman Stadium and Ballpark security procedures
- Walk facility and conduct security checks
- Log and report all activities performed during shift
- Write reports on all incidents occurring during the shift
- Monitor fire suppression system
- Monitor multiple surveillance cameras
- Routine inspection of the building
- Other related duties as assigned
Position Qualifications, Skills, and Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
- Security experience preferred but not required
- Must be able to pass a background check and obtain a KCMO Private Police Commission License
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Ability to lift/carry at least 50lbs
- Willingness to learn
- Possess a professional attitude that is customer service oriented
- Effective writing, telephone, and verbal communication skills
- Good judgment and detail oriented
- Knowledge of baseball helpful
- Available to work holidays, weekends, overnights, and evenings
- Able to work in heat/cold and to be on feet for extended periods of time
- Must have a valid state driver license
- Comfortable working overnight hours such as 8pm-6am or 11:00pm-7:00am respectively.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift items weighing as much as 50 pounds
- Must be able to work in a seated position for majority of workday
- Must be able to be productive utilizing a computer keyboard and telephone
- Must be able to be productive in a work environment where the noise level can be high at times
- Specific vision abilities include close vision and ability to adjust focus
- Must be comfortable walking to navigate the facility to access the office, concourse, etc.
- Must be able to work extended hours and/or weekends as required by deadlines and event scheduling

This role is a Part-Time, Non-Exempt opportunity that is not eligible for Company Benefits and 401K. The schedule for this position is dependent on our team schedule and is subject to change.
