Job Description
Job Summary:
Under general supervision, this position is responsible for scheduling office appointments and open colonoscopies for a colon and rectal surgeon. Obtain medical records, rooming patients, and triaging/managing schedules. Coordinate recall patients and manage process. GI and/or colon and rectal experience and knowledge with eClinical Works EMR a plus.
Job Duties:
1. Scheduling office appointments and open colonoscopies.
2. Manage clinic schedules
3. Gathering medical records for patient appointments and prepping charts
4. Recall process includes running reports, sending letters and scheduling
5. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with physicians and staff.
6. Maintains a high level of customer service with patients to make them feel comfortable and at ease.
7. Performs a variety of related duties such as cleaning exam rooms, room patients if needed, assist physician if needed.
8. Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
9. Protects patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information to comply with HIPAA and Practice requirements.
10. Performs all other duties or assume responsibilities as directed by the supervisor, physicians, or other staff to maintain the office flow and support the goals of the practice.
Skills and Qualifications:
High school graduate or GED. Graduated from an accredited Medical Assistant program. Minimum of 1year MA experience. Knowledge of medical terminology. Computer proficiency and ability to quickly learn new applications, attention to detail, and ability to accurately record information. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly.
