Summary
The Security Desk Operator/Security Receptionist is a key member of the Facilities Department and will perform services and tasks that are critical to the day-to-day operation of Simplot Headquarters. The Security Desk Operator serves as a direct resource for our contract Security team and must be a subject matter expert in all facility safety, security, and emergency response procedures. This position is the primary interface with all individuals entering/calling the JR Simplot Company and must represent the Company in a professional manner. This role works in a fast paced, constantly changing environment. The ability to multitask, manage multiple priorities, use various planning and organizational tools in a demanding, customer driven environment is critical. Duties and tasks are varied and not always standardized.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome visitors, determine nature of business, perform all security checks, and guide visitors through the visitor management sign-in process.
- Greet and interact with employees/executives entering the facility. Serve as resource for employee questions.
- Answer and screen all incoming phone calls. Transfers to appropriate employee as necessary.
- Provides parking validation to visitors and partners with garage management company on any issues reported to the Security Desk.
- Monitor site access control, surveillance systems, and other security programs. Reacts per security policies as events or incidents are observed.
- Monitor equipment and systems throughout lobby of office building. Initiate work orders and notifications for any repairs/discrepancies.
- Manage and maintain inventory for all security desk supplies (including but not limited to badging supplies, office supplies, radios, physical keys, etc.).
- Execute monthly inspections on all life-safety systems and arrange for any necessary repairs.
- Primary site interface with contract security team. Participates in all necessary security related notifications and communications.
- Subject Matter Expert on all policies, procedures, and security training program.
- Administers security training program and ensures all security officers are trained per procedures, follows up on discrepancies, and maintains training records.
- Generates daily activity reports or incident specific reports as it pertains to security, deliveries, safety, property related events, etc.
- Routinely audit all systems and policies/procedures to ensure accuracy. Complete updates as necessary.
- Identifies areas to streamline and optimize existing processes.
- Partner with all members of the Facilities team.
Typical Education
- AA or BS degree preferred.
Relevant Experience
- 3+ years related experience preferred.
- First Aid, AED, CPR certified (or be able to obtain).
Other Information
- Strong interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills.
- Comfort around Executives and Senior Leaders.
- Strong writing and organizational skills.
- The ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Proficient use of computers. Ability to learn and navigate multiple software’s and systems.
- Knowledge/experience with multiline phone system.
- The ability to multitask is a must.
- Combination of education, training and/or experience will be considered for this position.
