This position supports the Deputy Commissioner at our Central Office in Nashville with 15-25% of time spent in office. It is primarily a remote work position. Candidates need to be in the Middle Tennessee area and able to commute easily to Nashville.
This position is located in the Administrative and Regulatory Services Division of the Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services.
Who we are and what we do:
The Division of Administrative and Regulatory Services oversees research, general services, capital projects and major maintenance for the Regional Mental Health Institutes, technology, fiscal services, and licensing for all Tennessee agencies providing mental health, substance abuse, and personal support services, and investigates complaints of fraud, waste, abuse, neglect or similar violations. Seeking an Administrative Services Assistant with a passion for public service to assist in the smooth running of the Division, help provide coordination with other parts of the Department and to liaise with external parties as needed to support our mission of creating collaborative pathways for resiliency, recovery and independence for Tennesseans living with mental illness and substance abuse disorders.
How you make a difference in this role:
This position directly supports the Deputy Commissioner for Administrative and Regulatory Services as their Administrative Services Assistant.
Job Overview:
Responsibilities include:
- Managing calendar for the Deputy Commissioner and master calendar for the Division; providing administrative support for other Division leadership as requested by the Deputy Commissioner;
- Track key deadlines and assist in task prioritization to ensure deadlines are met for internal and external customers;
- Analyze a wide variety of complex information and independently assist in preparing documents such as memoranda and summary reports for Division leadership;
- Provide project management support as needed to ensure Division objectives are accomplished;
- Provide support for Licensure key meetings including scheduling and materials preparation as directed by the Deputy Commissioner;
- Support Commissioner's Office Administrative team with coordination needs related to the Division;
- Serve as parking liaison for the Department to external parties such as the Department of General Services
