Job Description
The Medical assistant will report to the Practice Manager and take direction from the health care provider. The Medical assistant is responsible for the delivery of patient care that promotes the safety and wellbeing of all patients.
Responsibilities:
Greet and prepare patients for the health care provider
Performs general patient care by following established standards and procedures
Obtain and records vital signs, current medications and presenting problems
May perform routine tests, blood draws, immunizations and administer medications as directed by the provider.
Document test results and examination results in the medical record as directed by the provider.
Communicates with patient regarding test results and plan of care by phone or mail as directed by provider.
Prepares, cleans, and sterilizes instruments, maintains equipment, maintains tests controls, and keeps patient exam rooms clean, stocked, orderly and disposes of contaminated items including sharps according to protocol.
Escalates non-routine issues, questions and/or concerns to the practice manager or healthcare provider.
Ensure safety checklists/quality controls are completed and up to date as required.
Performs other duties as assigned by practice manager or healthcare provider.
Good computer skills using a medical management application
Qualifications:
High School graduate or GED
1 Year experience or graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant Program
CMA certification preferred
CPR certification
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.50 - $17.50 per hour
