Job Description
Oregon Sleep Associates (OSA) is an AASM accredited sleep practice located in the heart of NW Portland. Conveniently nestled within the thriving medical community surrounding Legacy Good Samaritan Medical Center, OSA has been serving the Portland metro area since 2005.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
We are currently looking for a qualified candidate to fill a temporary, full-time medical assistant position.
Primarily supports and functions under the direction of the physician care team with various office and clinical duties to keep our clinic running efficiently. OSA has two board certified sleep specialists. Our services also include mail-out or pick up home sleep testing processes, and full DME operations. Our team is centered on providing compassionate and quality care, keeping patient costs down, and delivering industry leading timeliness in testing. We look for team members who share this vision and have the skills to complete it.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Comprehensive patient intake for telehealth and clinic appointments
- Greets and chaperones patients during medical visit
- Maintains accurate medical documentation
- Schedules care, treatment, diagnostic tests per physician
- Process prescription requests and referrals
- Verify insurance benefits and eligibility
- Additional duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Minimum of 1 year of MA experience
- Athena EHR experience a plus, but not a requirement
- High level of customer service skills
- Excellent attendance and work ethic
- Positive attitude and desire to be a team player
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with patients, staff and providers
- Certified Medical Assistant
SCHEDULE
- Day shift, (Monday – Thursday 8 am – 4:30 pm, and Friday 8 am – 1 pm)
- No remote work
Candidates must have the ability to multitask and be able to maintain a positive attitude while working in a fast-paced office.
