Job Description
Bookkeeper duties and responsibilities
A/P and A/R processing including entering and paying vendor bills, preparing Customer invoices and recording cash receipts. Balance Sheet Analysis including Bank Reconciliation.
Payroll responsibilities include processing weekly payroll through Paychex and union reporting and payment of union dues.
Completing Sales tax returns
Managing employee expense claims
Helping the Accountant with administrative duties and preparing quarterly and yearly reports.
Bookkeeper skills and qualifications
Good attention to detail, strong math skills and ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
Computer literacy, especially familiarity with spreadsheets, databases and accounting software such as Microsoft Office, Excel and QuickBooks
Communication and customer service skills for dealing with customers and suppliers.
Experience requirements
At least 3 years’ experience as a full charge bookkeeper with payroll processing as a core duty. Experience in a construction or union environment is a plus.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $27.00 - $32.00 per hour
