Job Description
Environmental Coordinator
The Environmental Coordinator is responsible for compliance with all current and future Federal, State, and local environmental regulations and permit requirements for the Kumho Tire Georgia, Macon GA facility. Summary of key tasks & responsibilities include:
- Insure compliance with environmental related permit requirements including the renewal of such permits. Environmental areas include: air, storm water, waste water, recycling, hazardous waste, solid waste, bio-solid land application, and chemical compliance;
- Perform environmental audits and provides timely, accurate feedback to appropriate plant leadership as to the status of compliance, potential areas of environmental concern, and regulatory changes that impact current and future environmental compliance; assures any deficiencies are corrected;
- Assure the proper recordkeeping documentation is completed and maintained;
- Prepare documents and records for the timely submission of required Federal, State and local environmental compliance reporting for the plant; submits such reporting as required;
- Assure that all environmental equipment is working properly; notifies and follows-up with appropriate resources on repairs and purchases;
- Develop and implement training programs, plans, and training schedules to educate department leaders on environmental matters;
- Maintain professional conduct during the performance of all aspects of work with all company personnel, contractors, vendors, and regulatory agencies;
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Summary of basic qualifications and experience includes:
- Bachelor Degree in Environmental Science or related discipline;
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in an environmental position;
- Demonstrated knowledge of environmental standards, regulations and reporting criteria;
- Competencies include: initiative, dependability, commitment, accountability, requires minimum supervision; strong communication skills both verbal and written;
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
- Experience or knowledge working in a 24/7 manufacturing environment.
