Job Description
F&G is looking to hire a Manager, External Communications.
Job Summary
As a part of the Corporate Marketing team at F&G, this role will partner with marketing, sales, community engagement, human resources and other functions to develop an effective external communications strategy and communication rhythms. Reporting the AVP, Communications the role will be a leader in helping to tell the F&G story.
Duties & Responsibilities
Develop strategic plan for content development across external platforms including public-facing website, social media channels and advertising to effectively tell the F&G story to external audiences including consumers, policyholders, advisors, potential employees and the media.
Partner across the business to provide high-level messaging for external platforms that supports business objectives and sales/marketing goals.
Develop and manage social media strategy to attract and engage key audiences including the development of a proactive approach to crisis and global/social communication needs.
Monitor and manage social communities, including responding to comments and escalation of customer complaints or feedback to the appropriate internal owners.
Ensure messaging and brand voice are consistent with brand objectives and visual identity while also aligning to platform best-practices and trends.
Assess and make recommendations for website strategy and content, partnering with marketing and sales to align business goals for the website.
Manage advertising strategy, buy and execution to support community, association and event goals.
Share feedback and insights that can inform our overall engagement strategies. Identify, evaluate, and report performance KPIs with a strong understanding of which measurements align with business goals.
Partner with operations to develop a roadmap for enhancing policyholder communications.
Partner with Public Relations, Investor Relations and agency partners to coordinate messaging across platforms.
Experience & Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree or commensurate experience required.
7+ years' experience managing external communications, including experience managing and growing social communities.
Demonstrated experience with social publishing and monitoring software. Able to assess communication tools and processes and make recommendations for improvements.
Ability to effectively develop and implement new processes

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Stays in touch with industry best practices and uses them to test and learn as appropriate; regularly evaluates channels to determine audience / brand fit.
Possesses excellent communication skills and ability to express company views creatively
Able to collaborate with a wide range of teams, open to feedback and seeks input from others.
Thrives in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple long-term projects and the day-to-day.
Comfortable working with complex, regulated products and partnering with a broad spectrum of internal and external audiences to develop comprehensive plan.
Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite of products, comfortable working with design and agency vendors, experience with web platform management, brand standards and publishing software a plus.

Comfortable in a flexible working environment, working with remote teams and the ability to work remotely and/or from our Des Moines, IA office.
