Warehouse Manager - Belleville Operations
About us:
Empire Comfort Systems grew out of a small sheet metal shop founded by Henry Bauer in 1911 in Belleville, Illinois. During World War II, Empire Stove Company (now Empire Comfort Systems) produced bomb casings for the United States as part of the civilian war effort. In 1945, Empire received the Army-Navy E-Award for great accomplishment in the production of war equipment. The Army-Navy E-Award flag still hangs in the main ECS office today. Nick Bauer and Jane Bauer-Routh represent the fourth generation of Bauer’s at Empire Comfort Systems, truly making this a family-operated business. Today the company’s primary product lines include manufacturing and assembling gas operated Fireplaces (indoor and outdoor), gas logs and burner sets, gas room heaters, wood burning stoves and BBQ grills (gas and charcoal).
Open Position:
Empire is seeking a Warehouse Manager for our Belleville Shipping Operations. This person will lead a team of approximately ten warehouse workers and three clerks.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of 7-10 union forklift drivers and 3 office personnel
- Learn the union contract and work within the Basic Labor Agreement
- Manage staff timesheets, time-away requests (vacation, sick time, etc.), data entry into payroll system (currently Kronos)
- Create and implement processes and procedures
- Inventory management: monitor inventory for all locations, ensure inventory is accurate for the warehouse, provide cycle counts, adjustments, and investigations as needed
- Create KPI’s (key performance indicators) and use the data to help manage the shipping department
- Analyze statistics and compile accurate reports
- Manage shipping product to customers through truckload, LTL, and parcel carriers
- Receiving with PO receipts and Manufactured receipts
- Plan dock schedule /organization of inbound and outbound freight
- Maintain relationships with 3PL (Solutions) and Vendors (Trucking companies, pallet vendor, sanitation supply vendor)
- Work closely and provide support to all departments of the organization, including: customer service, supply chain, marketing, and manufacturing.

Compensation: competitive salary based on experience, bonus based on company performance and individual contribution

Experience:
- Shipping and Inventory Management: 3 years (Required)
- Supervisory Experience: 1 year (Preferred)
Education:
· Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
