We are currently looking for an entry level accountant to join the team in Fayetteville. This is a great opportunity for a new professional with little or no experience to join our talented accounting department.
Our firm provides professional services to our valued clients including preparation of income tax returns, financial statements and business management in a friendly, team-oriented environment. We are a growing firm that utilizes advanced technology and has flexible working conditions with opportunities for learning and professional advancement. Our clients include many small businesses in diverse industries, entrepreneurs and high net-worth individuals.
This is a flex-time position. Working hours are:
February 15 – April 15 Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
April 16 – February 14 Monday through Thursday, 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Evening and weekend work may be required, as job duties demand. Flexible hours are available for proven employees.
Qualifications:
- Recent graduate / Junior, Senior, or Masters student actively pursuing a BS/BA/Masters in Accounting/Taxation or related field. Completion of some tax classes preferred
- Demonstrated success in coursework as measured by a 3.0 GPA or higher in major courses
- Cordial and pleasant communication
- Takes on challenges and ownership of issues and problems; sees tasks through to completion
- Conducts research and utilizes available materials and resources effectively
- Expresses themselves effectively orally and in writing; takes complex thoughts, synthesizes them into words using clear, concise language, and presents a cohesive narrative
- Effectively communicates the status of their work to their team
- Sets priorities according to external deadlines and project criticality; knows when to raise priority setting conflicts to management
- Seeks and learns from guidance and feedback from more senior employees
- CPA exam eligible or working towards eligibility
- Proficiency in MS Office 365 including Word and Excel
- Ability to problem solve
- Requires attention to detail
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare federal and state tax returns for S corporations, C corporations, partnerships, trusts, and individuals
- Perform accounting or bookkeeping functions; prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Reconcile and adjust books for small business
- Sales tax return preparation
- Payroll processing
- File 1099s/W2s
- Property tax return preparation
- Assist with tax audits and notice responses
- Take ownership of engagements and provide exceptional service to clients by giving individual attention, responsiveness and commitment to understanding their goals and needs
- Develop and maintain an excellent working relationship with all team members, internally and externally
- Maintain and comply with the highest degree of professional standards, client confidentiality and personal conduct
