ROLE TITLE: Director, Alumni Strategy - Greater New Orleans (Full time)
POSITION REPORTS TO: Ge’ron Tatum

SALARY: $74,300 - $111,300
WHAT YOU’LL DO
The Director, Alumni Strategy (DAS) will set the vision, strategy and operational plans that leads to a deeper connection to the 1100+ Teach For America alumni that currently reside in Greater New Orleans. Through creative outreach and engagement opportunities grounded in accelerating our 2030 goal, the director will mobilize alumni leadership and connection. This role requires ingenuity, flexibility, exceptional relationship and partnership building skills and an orientation towards outcomes grounded in strong operational planning. The DAS will be grounded in the core functions of managing the alumni interest boards,
designing and managing the transition and on ramp for second year corps members to alumni hood, and building alumni leadership pathways through career coaching and talent partnerships within our community.
The Director, Alumni Strategy is a new role on the TFA Louisiana team and will be tasked with jump starting strategy, programming and initiatives that provide our alumni with real benefits. The responsibilities and outputs for the role will evolve and in year one the director will be successful if they accomplish the
following goals:
Engage at least half of our alumni force, with a focus on satisfaction
Increase the number of alumni in key roles, with an emphasis on diverse leadership
Build a strategy that supports alumni connectivity, with an emphasis on talent pathways
WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
Set Vision, Strategy and Execute Operations for Alumni Engagement & Satisfaction (40%)
Conduct a landscape analysis on alumni wants and needs to define areas of focus for engagement and satisfaction strategies
Operationalize our enterprise-wide promise to alumni by identifying strategies to provide real-benefits to them and execute on them
Identify niche alumni communities for targeted engagement and support and execute against the strategy you design
Develop a predictable and purposeful rhythm of alumni outreach and communications that is relevant and actionable
Build strategic alumni talent partnerships within in the community to accelerate alumni impact and our 2030 goal
Design, Manage and Execute Alumni Programming (40%)
Develop the strategy and experience for second year corps members transition to alumnihood
Design and execute alumni career coaching experiences and programming aligned to strategic partnerships that support our 2030 goal
Manage the Alumni Advisory Board and its auxiliary boards (The Collective & PRISM)
Initiate new and vetted high-quality alumni programming that increases engagement, satisfaction and leadership within niche groups of alumni
Develop a meaningful and robust alumni giving program that increases the number of engaged alumni donors year over year
Collaborate with the MD, Strategic Partnerships, the MDs, Leadership Development and the Director, Alumni Teacher Leadership to execute core programs within the region
Lead Alumni Data Integrity, Accuracy and Systems Alignment (10%)
Manage all alumni data within TFACT ensuring that at least 80% of alumni records are accurate and fresh year over year
Leverage Salesforce Marketing Cloud and aligned analytics to track alumni campaign performance on engagement
Develop the systems, strategies, expectations and cadence for regional teammates to execute against our alumni data strategy

A WEEK IN THE LIFE
Over the course of any week, the Director, Alumni Strategy will spend time:
Meeting 1:1 with alumni to build rapport, alignment and connectivity
Aligning with the Alumni board chair on the Alumni giving campaign strategy and operations
Providing career support and 1:1 coaching with alumni
Updating alumni records in TFACT based on your most recent outreach to HR teams within school networks
Designing the End of Year alumni giving campaign and associated giving levels benefiting the performance of the most recent SFMC alumni community newsletter
Fostering a new relationship/mentorship between an alum jumpstarting a new venture and a seasoned alum leader
Attending a NOLA-PS board meeting to identify opportunities for alumni leadership representation with their priorities
Spending time in a school where there is a strong alumni presence
YOUR EXPERIENCE
Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role (minimum qualifications):
6+ years of professional work experience including experience in teaching, project management, community engagement, and campaign deployment
Proficient in strategy development and operational planning
Adept at building strong, immediate relationships that lead to partnerships Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint, Word)
Former Teach For America experience as a staff member or corps member, knowledge of education and non-profit landscape in the Greater New Orleans community required
Education: Bachelor's Degree

Work Demands: Some weekend and evening work required, ability to lift and transport 30 pounds, ability to travel to in-person meetings across the community

YOUR COMPENSATION
The applicable salary range for each U.S.-based role is based on where the employee works and is aligned to one of 3 tiers according to a cost of labor index in that geographic area. Starting pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. The expected salary range for this role is set forth below. These ranges may be modified in the future.
Tier A: $74,300 - $111,300
