The Department of Revenue, Child Support Enforcement Division (CSED) is seeking talented and creative candidates to fill an Analyst/ Programmer 1-4 Flex position.
**Effective July 1, 2023, salary will be increased by 2.5%**

The Department of Revenue’s Division of Child Support Services (CSSD) is committed to ensuring child support is collected and disbursed pursuant to child support orders. Our Director has a vision to be the Amazon of Child Support. The Division’s IT is made up of nine Analyst/Programmers who work together in a team environment.
Who we are looking for:
The individual selected should have an understanding and experience with various programming languages, databases, and technologies as well as the ability to effectively learn new technologies. The position also requires strong business analysis skills to properly determine requirements. The ideal candidate will be a team player and motivated to help the division with multi-year projects to modernize Alaska’s child support services. Thinking “outside of the box” beyond how things have always been done is preferred.

Experience with programming languages such as MS SQL, MS .Net, C#, JAVA, Eclipse, JavaScript, Natural, and XML;
Experience with defensive coding security practices: SQL Injection, parameterized queries, cross-site scripting;
Experience with databases, ADABAS or Microsoft SQL Server 2012 and later preferred;
Experience with relational database management systems, data normalization, indexing and keys, stored procedures, views, constraints, including advanced scripting techniques;
Experience creating relational database diagrams and class diagrams;
Experience with scripting languages (T-SQL, P-SQL, PowerShell);
Experience with report creation using SQL Server Reporting Services or similar tools
Minimum Qualifications
Analyst/Programmer 1
Successful completion of nine (9) semester hours of college-level coursework in computer languages or system analysis.
OR
Three months of actual computer programming experience.
OR
One year of work experience using a computer for analysis, including experience in the use of computer reporting languages, spreadsheets, or statistical packages.
Special Note:
An applicant who will complete the required college-level coursework within three (3) months of hire qualifies to apply for this job class. An applicant qualifying under this option may receive a job offer conditional upon completion of the required college-level coursework and proof of completion will be required prior to final appointment and reporting for duty.
Individual positions at each level in this class series may require expertise in a particular area of programming or analysis. Recruitment and selection will be on the basis of these requirements.

Analyst/Programmer 2
One year of computer programming experience in a recognized computer language. One year of the experience must have been in a business application, scientific application, microcomputer or computer system user support specialty.
Substitution:
A bachelor's degree with a major in Computer Science (CS) or Computer Information Systems (CIS), or a related degree with (18) semester/(24) quarter hours of CS or CIS may substitute for all of the required experience. An associate's degree in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems may substitute for nine months of the required experience.
Special Note:
An applicant who is considered under the Substitution above qualifies to apply for this job class IF the applicable coursework is completed within three (3) months of hire. Under this option, an applicant may receive a conditional job offer; however, proof of completion will be required prior to final appointment and reporting for duty.

This position requires the use of the Alaska Public Safety Information Network (APSIN). A security clearance issued by the Department of Public Safety (DPS) is necessary to use APSIN. Flexible Staffing
