Job Summary:
This position requires a strong leader with strong business acumen, strong understanding of GAAP, SOX, financial statement interpretation and analysis, presentation, and reporting skills as well as excellent communication skills and a commitment to continual process improvement. This individual should be an energetic proactive manager exhibiting characteristics of servant leadership who can consistently meet deadlines and produce accurate financial information.
This position will report to the Vice President of Finance and will be located in Crawfordsville, Indiana.
Accountabilities:
Controllership
Responsible for the monthly, quarterly and annual financial close process. Completes according to Corporate schedule and provides accurate results
Maintains robust internal controls and ensures adherence to the IDEX Corporate Policies related to Finance. Develops and implements local policy for financial control as appropriate.
Develop and maintain relationship with IDEX Corporate Accounting and Internal Audit teams to ensure compliance with US GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley, and IDEX policies.
Ownership and Leadership of the Account Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, and Inventory Management processes and team
Review and approval of account reconciliations and journal entries
Partners with HR to ensure proper reporting and coding of payroll
Capital deployment, reporting, reconciliation, and tracking
Leads the cycle count program and physical inventory process
Maintains Levels of Authority document and ensures compliance across the organization
Cash Management: Authorization of ACH and wire payments through Bank of America
Aligns financial processes across regions (Latin America and Europe)
Leads and/or participates in special projects and assignments as required.
Financial Leadership and Communication
Ability to collaborate across the organization and positively influence business outcomes. Effectively communicate with business leaders across all functional disciplines.
Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training and developing accounting employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance and mentoring; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems – all in accordance with company policies and procedures.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Strong leadership, presentation skills, financial analysis, and ability to explain and communicate financial results in an understandable and actionable format for decision-making purposes.
Strong computer skills and financial acumen.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree with finance, accounting, economics or other business related major. Candidates should have 7+ years of work experience in finance and accounting. A good understanding of financial statements and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) required. Strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills required with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Skills (Computer/Technical): Preferably strong Excel, PowerPoint and OneStream or other reporting systems skills and experience
