Job Description
Job Title: Junior Accountant
Department: Finance & Administration
Reports to: CFO
Designation: Non-Exempt full-time
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Junior Accountant. As a Junior Accountant, you will provide essential support to the accounting department and play a crucial role in ensuring accurate financial records and maintaining the overall financial health of the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of financial records, including general ledger entries, accounts payable and receivable, expense reports, and bank reconciliations.
- Help in the preparation of financial statements, such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Collaborate with the senior accounting team to ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and relevant regulations.
- Support the month-end and year-end close processes, including the preparation of journal entries and financial reports.
- Conduct periodic internal audits to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to established procedures.
- Assist with the management of accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including invoice processing, payment verification, and collections.
- Contribute to the budgeting and forecasting process by gathering and analyzing financial data.
- Assist with the preparation and submission of tax returns and other statutory filings.
- Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and industry best practices to ensure compliance and efficiency.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Highly organized and able to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
- Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities.
Salary Range: The salary range for this entry-level position is up to $60,000 per year, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
