We are looking for an ambitious Junior/Staff Accountant to provide support to the Accounting/Financial department by managing daily accounting tasks. You will be working directly underneath the Controller to maintain order and transparency for the company’s accounting & finances. Assisting with processing payroll, misc data entry, maintaining spreadsheets, and cross referencing details in Quickbooks, Salesforce, and vendor portals are a large part of the junior accountant’s day-to-day work. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in accounting principles, able to work comfortably with numbers, and have excellent attention to detail. The goal is to contribute to the overall efficient operation of the department in order for the company to be fully aware of its financial condition. An inviting office atmosphere in the growing, solar industry combined with professional experience and the ability for career advancement, make this position a great opportunity for the right candidate.
Responsibilities
- Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded
- Update accounts receivable and issue invoices
- Update accounts payable and perform reconciliations
- Assist in the processing of balance sheets, income statements and other financial statements according to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines
- Assist with reviewing of expenses, payroll records etc. as assigned
- Update financial data in databases to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed
- Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports
- Assist Controller and CPA in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings
- Assist with other accounting projects as assigned
Skills
- Proven experience as a junior accountant or recent college graduate with the desire and ability to learn
- Excellent organizing abilities
- Excellent attention to detail
- Excellent with numbers and figures and an analytical acumen
- Excellent understanding of accounting
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office, Google Suite and familiarity with relevant computer software
- Required experience using Quickbooks, Quickbooks Online
- Qualifications BSc/Ba in accounting, finance or relevant field
