You are responsible for all activities related to conceptualizing and implementing market strategy and achieving branding targets. Specific responsibilities include business and market development; market research and planning; strategic direction for promotion and advertising; coordination with sales; and directing the day-to-day activities of the creative/marketing staff.

Creative
Develop overall strategy vision, policies, resources, systems and execution plans that align to the corporate strategy.
Lead the generation of ideas from concept to execution to improve customer experiences.
Leads the long-term creative evolution of the brand in partnership with Product, Media, Merchandising, and Store Teams.
Develops and leads the internal content development process in close partnership with Product, Media, Merchandising, and Store Teams, ensuring that the content generation effectively and efficiently fulfills business goals
Build a high-performing team, break down silos, increase collaboration and drive internal growth.
Strengthen brand equity via marketing strategies driving growth throughout the organization.
Defines and maintains brand standards in all elements.
Leads the marketing and creative teams to develop creative platforms in marketing strategies, research, and consumer insights.
Directs the creative and design standards for national marketing initiatives (e.g., marketing events, advertising, merchandising, packaging, etc.).
Provides creative ideas, branding, and visual solutions for a variety of projects.
Sharpens the brand voice across all channels.
Develops style and usage guides to ensure consistency and quality across the company.
Leads and communicates the overall creative direction to Sr. Leadership, Creative Managers, Design, and Graphics teams
Encourages and supports new product opportunities/innovation
Collaborates with Merchandising to communicate the line story/messaging to Sales
Reviews all creative projects, lines, and packages with COO/CEO to ensure alignment of Brand strategy.
Directs and ensures product presentations are cohesive and have visual representation of all merchandise.
Approves Creative Briefs and marketing collateral related to product.
Shops the market for relevant trends and product opportunities.
Collaborates with cross functional departments to ensure innovative concepts meet brand expectations and financial goals.
Create compelling store environment presentation for all store types and external events.
Communicate Visual Merchandising strategies to key stake-holders.
Ensure team and campaigns meet deadlines and stay within budget.
Projects
Leads projects/products from conception through execution to development of compelling and effective creative solutions.
Determines appropriate assignments for creative team members to design and execute creative solutions.
Directs photo shoots, video production, location visits, press checks, and other stages of the creative development and production process.
Develops, executes, monitors, and adjusts project plans, resources, and strategies to ensure the deliverables are on time, within budget, and adhere to high quality standards.
Establishes and maintains vendor relationships to manage expectations (e.g., high level of service, accountability, etc.), to provide timely feedback, and to maximize cost efficiency, quality, timeliness, and responsiveness in a manner that best supports the organization's initiatives.
Management/Leadership
Researches, monitors, and analyzes industry marketing/creative trends, technologies, and best practices.
Interfaces with industry and professional organizations to increase awareness of Brand, to expand networking opportunities, and to remain knowledgeable of marketing/creative strategies, tools, and trends.
Lead development of creative/marketing team including recruiting and coaching to build organization talent
What you need to join the fun! (besides SUGAR)
Has several years’ experience as a creative director or vice president in confections, entertainment, fashion, beauty, and/or lifestyle brands
Boasts a killer portfolio that shows where you’ve been, demonstrates a true creative voice, and includes examples of strategic implementation of your designs
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Visual Arts, Design, Marketing, Journalism or related experience
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Active and effective prioritization of the team’s workload and ability to proactively manage deliverables
Excellent communication skills, team oriented, strong positive leadership
Possess strong conceptual skills, high-level sense of design, layout, and typography, and a broad thinker who demonstrates the ability to think and act both creatively and strategically.
Agility in responding to business plans and evolving business trends.
Understanding of creative execution elements and processes that are specific to each medium/channel of customer communication
Experience in overseeing creative execution that links to brand positioning
Exceptional people management and mentoring skills, with particular strength in building a collaborative work environment
Excellent innovation management skills; able to lead vision and purpose
Demonstrated ability to foster an environment of creativity that pushes innovative ideas while guiding the team to connect with the customer and deliver on core brand attributes
Possess strategic understanding of competitor positioning, differentiators, strengths and weaknesses
Ability to inspire creativity in others
