Job Description
Position: Staff Accountant
Department: Finance
Reports to: Financial Controller
FLSA Status: Salaried/Exempt
Summary
This position will be responsible for preparing and reviewing financial transactions that drive financial statements. This role will ensure accuracy and completeness in the financial reporting, provide support for the budget process, research and implement accounting policies, support effective internal control procedures, and participate in projects as needed. This individual will also work closely with the Staff and Leadership team.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
· Compiling, analyzing, and reporting financial data.
· Develop and maintain the cost accounting system, documents, and records of the organization.
· Analyze and recommend costs and cost savings.
· Prepare and maintain general ledger and month-end close for all locations as assigned in a timely manner.
· Review and reconcile account balances and bank statements for all entities.
· Review and provide monthly and/or quarterly variance analysis of the general ledger in a written format and resolving discrepancies.
· Act as a liaison between external stakeholders and the facilities to provide required financial information and reports.
· Maintain a monthly reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts and related sub-ledgers.
· Prepare other special reports as needed to help analyze, summarize, and identify trends for the management team.
· Ensure financial integrity and efficiency of the department by continuously reviewing trends and support for all account transactions that flow from all modules - AP, PR, AR, Vendor mgt.
· Assist outside firms with Audits, Taxes, Cost Reports, or other misc. requests.
· Process simple non-income tax filings as needed (provider tax, use tax, gross receipts tax, etc.)
· Provide cash management support, as needed.
Job Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or similar course of study.
· 1-2 years of experience preferred.
· Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook.
· Highest level of integrity and confidentiality.
· Customer service-oriented with the ability to work well under pressure.
· Strong attention to detail.
· Organizational skills with ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
· Demonstrate problem-solving and analytical skills.
· Approachable, flexible, and adaptable to change.
· Ability and willingness to work flexible hours, if needed, to accomplish dept goals.
· Function independently and work effectively with stakeholders.
Physical Requirements:
· Moderate physical activity:
· Requires handling of average-weight objects up to twenty-five (25) pounds.
· Sitting for more than two (2) hours at a time.
· Must be physically able to operate office equipment, computers, and telephone.
· Tasks may require concentrated focus at a computer for extended periods of time.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year (depending upon experience)
