Job Description
Job Title: Staff Accountant (Entry Level)
Department: Finance
FLSA Status: Exempt
Spectrum Management, LLC has been serving the Washington, DC metropolitan area for over 22 years and provides a comprehensive array of services that include construction management, facilities management and real estate development services. Spectrum is currently seeking a Staff Accountant to be responsible for managing the day to day financial processes at our Main Office location.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Interacts with and manages relationships with outside audit firms, banks and tax preparer
· Coordinates month-end and year-end close processes, including schedule preparation and account analysis
· Prepares payments by accruing expenses; assigning account numbers; requesting disbursements; reconciling accounts.
· Prepare, verify, and process invoices for sales or services rendered
· Post customer payments by recording cash, checks, and credit card transactions and entering them into the general ledger or accounting software
· Owns the day to day AP process
· Accurately posts invoices daily into quick books
· Reviews all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment
· Respond to all vendor inquiries
· Reconcile vendor statements, research and correct discrepancies
· Meet deadlines for month end closing
· Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately
· Prepares analysis of accounts as required
· 1099 maintenance
· Credit Card account maintenance and reconciliations
· Process Travel and Expense Reimbursements
· Responsible for weekly check runs
· Record cash receipts
· Assist with other projects as needed
· Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting required.
· 1-3 years of experience in accounting.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office required.
· Government Accounting experience preferred.
· QuickBooks Desktop experience preferred.
· Payroll processing experience preferred.
