Overview:
JOB SUMMARY:
The Accounts Payable Specialist is a member of the Finance Accounts Payable (AP) team. They are responsible for the timely process of invoices within agreed KPI”s to ensure payments are made in accordance with Oil Search (Alaska) LLC preferred terms.
WORK LOCATION: Anchorage, AK
SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday
Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Promote and lead in the implementation of policies and procedures, including safety, health, environment, process, people, and planning
Management of the AP inbox, ensure correct and timely processing of invoices are within agreed KPI. Monitoring invoices in the system to identify any errors, rectify as needed to ensure they are selected for payment runs when due
Processing batch and manual payments including local and foreign currency invoices as per the payment schedule to ensure invoices are paid in accordance with agreed terms
Monitor supplier database, making change requests when required so details are correct and up to date
Reconcile supplier account statements and follow up on any outstanding invoices or credits for processing to avoid unfavorable action from suppliers. Give urgent attention to accounts that are over 90days outstanding or have been placed on “Stop Credit”
Proactively follow up on invoice approvals within the business to avoid late payments
Monthly Balance Sheet Account Reconciliations and general accounting support when required
Additional ad hoc responsibilities as they come up
Invoice related matters, inform and collaborate to resolve any queries or disputes
Payment related matters, engage and resolve any issues relating to rejected and returned funds
Invoice approvals, advice, engage and influence those authorizers to ensure KPI’s are achieved
Qualifications:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum 5 years accounts payable experience preferably in a full function role
Previously used a large ERP system, SAP preferred
