Job Description
Coe College's Advancement Department seeks qualified candidates for the position of Annual Fund Director. This position is responsible for implementation of all phases of the College’s annual giving program, overseeing e-philanthropy, direct mail and telemarketing solicitation programs while working with volunteers to enhance other fundraising initiatives at the College. The Director will continuously develop and manage a portfolio of emerging leadership donor prospects. The Director is responsible for driving strategy to meet unrestricted annual fund monetary and alumni participation goals for the college. Excellent verbal and written skills, creativity, a demonstrated capacity to perform and incorporate data analysis, a high energy level, and a commitment to the mission of the College are prerequisites for this position.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Implement all phases of the college’s annual giving program, including direction of all e-mail and direct mail solicitation efforts, Day of Giving/Giving Tuesday, Phonathon and Crowdfunding.
Develop solicitation schedule and segmentation strategies and utilize multiple platforms to maximize impact. Continuously track return on investment (ROI) to ensure resources are used in the best way possible.
Lead and direct colleagues across departments to keep annual fund goals on the forefront and ensure leadership gifts are secured each year.
Generate new and creative strategies for solicitation content, including using analysis of donor behavior, writing content, and designing appeals.
Regularly analyze giving history and patterns as well as current Development trends to assist in developing solicitation strategies.
Develop and manage a portfolio of emerging leadership donor prospects meeting specific goals as directed by AVP and VP for Advancement.
Work closely with Athletic Director to develop fundraising and sponsorship strategies for athletics.
Direct fundraising strategies with other campus partners, including email and direct mail solicitations and crowdfunding efforts.
Supervise Phonathon efforts, setting goals and measuring results.
Oversee the work of and provide coaching to the Assistant Director of the Annual Fund on all of the above goals and objectives.
Work closely with Advancement Services Director to develop program to consistently and in a timely manner thank donors and provide information on how their gift impacts Coe.
Oversee on-campus Advancement programs and efforts, collaborating with Alumni Engagement as needed, including Senior Class Gift Campaign, Senior Dinner, Student Alumni Association Philanthropy Committee, Reunion Giving, Faculty/Staff Giving.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Requires working evenings and occasional weekend hours.
Prior experience in a fundraising, sales or marketing or similar environment requiring solicitation of multiple audiences with segment specific messages preferred.
Successful completion of a background check in accordance with Coe College policy.
