Job Description
Summary:
The Assistant Controller will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer of Guild Brands and is responsible for managing and directing the Finance functions of Uno Alla Volta and its affiliates. This position will also have “dotted line” reporting structure to the President of Uno Alla Volta and be the primary finance/accounting leader dedicated to the brand performance. Additionally, the Assistant Controller may work with Artful Home as needed on projects that arise to improve the efficiency and profitability of integrating operations between the two organizations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Planning, leading and executing all accounting and finance functions
2. Managing the recording and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results
3. Coordinating and preparing accurate internal and external financial statements in a timely manner in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
4. Understanding and ownership of Revenue and Cost of Goods sold accounting processes
5. Responsible for Treasury functions, including debt management, accounts payable (domestic and international), bank reconciliations, deposits/refunds and cash flow projections
6. Maintaining the CapEx, Fixed Asset and Depreciation activity
7. Managing and supervising the Accounts Payable Specialist
8. Partnering with Marketing to track all catalog expenditures and own the expense amortization model
9. Coordinating activities and information for external auditors
10. Provide management with information and performance metrics vital to the decision-making process
11. Managing the annual budget process, variance analysis and corresponding mid-year reforecasting
12. Responsible for Inventory accuracy and valuation including overseeing physical counts, landing foreign purchases, and reporting of inventory variances and turns
13. Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes and internal control systems
14. Evaluating the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting database, as needed
15. Coordinating and managing quality controls throughout organization and assisting department managers with formal procedures and processes.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Direct reporting responsibility for Staff Accountant.
Position is responsible for leading the Accounting team and collaborating with all departments for success. All SCB team members work with all peers and staff members to multiply knowledge as part of SCB culture, in which all professionals are both learners and teachers.

· BS/MS degree in accounting;
· 5 plus years of experience in a financial leadership role
· Strong track record of managing month end close and budgeting processes
· Impeccable analytical and organizational skills
· Familiar with ERP systems; Great Plains experience is a plus
· Privately held business experience is a plus
· Excellent Excel user
· Proficient with Treasury Management
· Exceptional desire to learn; intellectually curious
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills
· Experience managing staff and projects
· Ready to accept responsibility and accountability, and willing to be direct about the resources needed to assure success.
· Self-motivated and self- directed
Education and/or Experience
BS/MS degree in accounting; CPA preferred and minimum of 5-plus years’ experience in a financial leadership role.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $110,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
