Working Title Performing Arts Marketing + Communications Student Assistants Fall 2023
Details
The student marketing assistants for the CLAS Marketing + Communications (MarCom) team will offer outreach and promotional support for School of Music, Department of Dance, Department of Theatre Arts, and the UI Office of Performing Arts and Engagement across multiple platforms. Each student assistant will be assigned to focus on one of the departments mentioned above.
Once trained, and with ongoing mentorship, the student assistants will meaningfully support the promotion of their assigned department, UI performing arts initiatives, and the CLAS Marketing + Communications team through projects such as:
- Writing and posting/sharing news items for our websites and social media
- Creating and posting social media content, which may include:
o Photography and/or videography of “day in the life” content within your department
o Photography and/or videography of various events and rehearsals
- Community outreach and engagement, including active engagement on social media platforms
- Occasional distribution of print materials (postering, etc.)
- Contributing as needed to departmental alumni newsletters
- Basic graphic design to create promotion assets like social media posts, reels, flyers, digital slides, etc.
- Preparing student/faculty/staff features for various platforms
- Communicating among fellow Performing Arts student assistants and with other campus partners about promotional needs and cross-promotional opportunities
