Oberview
A maintenance manager is responsible for overseeing all installation, repair, and upkeep operations of an organization's facilities. In the event a repair arises outside the scope of the Maintenance Manager’s knowledge or ability, The Maintenance Manager is responsible for scheduling the proper repair company in the timeliest manner.
- The primary job responsibilities of this position are expected to adhere to each of the following responsibilities daily. Responsibilities, however, are not limited to the information contained within this document. Additional responsibilities will continually be assigned through specific Work order instructions. Additional tasks will also be assigned by Plant Manager. Food Manufacturing experience is preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all aspects of training and leading maintenance staff to include disciplinary measures as well as vacation and time off scheduling.
- Receives and carries out oral and written assignments from Plant Manager
- Works as a team with Production Management, Warehouse Management, and Quality Control Management
- Plans, schedules, assigns or (in some cases) performs the work of attending to all preventive and repair maintenance of the facility and grounds.
- Oversees all outside contractor/repair personnel working inside or outside the facility to assure all SQF/SSOP/GMP guidelines are followed, and equipment is repaired in a safe and timely manner.
- Responsible for notifying outside repair/service/contractor personnel for estimate needs and coordinates materials, labor, and equipment for repairs/updates.
- Maintains records/repair reports/ preventive maintenance schedules/MSDS of all equipment/building/grounds as directed by SQF/SSOP/GMP Standards
- Leads safety meetings with maintenance staff.
- Works a flexible schedule to allow for optimal use of maintenance time including evenings and weekends as needed. Work may be done outside normal business hours during declared emergency situations.
- Must be able to operate lift equipment as needed.
- Must be able to operate hand and power tools, vehicles and equipment commonly used for maintenance and repair tasks.
- Must assign (and in some cases perform) general building maintenance duties, including basic plumbing, carpentry, and electrical tasks as needed for the facility and grounds.
- Responsible for tree trimming and other vegetation maintenance as needed around parking areas and retention/fence areas of the the facility.
- May need a working knowledge of plumbing/electrical codes.

Physical Requirements:
- Lifts, carries, and loads tools and materials needed onto cart, lift cage or other means of transporting tools and materials needed.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds or more.
- Must be able to climb ladders.
- May be exposed to a variety of hazardous/unpleasant working conditions, including wet, rainy, cold, hot weather, poison oak, food waste, electrical power, and exposure to chemicals.
- Prolonged walking and/or standing may be required of the employee in this position.
- Prolonged bending, stooping, kneeling, and lifting are required for means of repair/preventive maintenance activities.
- The employee in this position may be required for work purposes to enter an cooler or freezer
Qualifications:
- 5+ years' experience in maintenance management role
- Strong knowledge of engineering concepts, including electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems
- Ability to keep track of and report on activity.
- Experience in planning maintenance operations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent leadership and management skills
- Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with staff members.
- Competent in problem solving, team building, planning and decision making.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $103,648.00 per year
