Job Description
Overview:
The Network Support Technician provides quality on site support to Huntsville Hospital Supply Chain users with a high degree of customer service, technical expertise, and timeliness. The Network Support Technician provides support for installation, upgrades and maintenance of all hardware and software in the LAN and WAN environment. Performs preventative maintenance on all networked equipment. Troubleshoots and performs repairs when possible and coordinates vendor service as needed. In all instances, the Network Support Technician is the advocate for the user.
Qualifications:
Education:
Require Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with emphasis in Computer Science. Equivalent experience may be accepted in lieu of degree. A+ Certification preferred. CNA, MCP Certification desirable.
Experience:
Working knowledge of Microsoft office tools. Experience with DOS operating system. Extensive knowledge of Windows operating system. Extensive experience installing computer software. Extensive knowledge of computer hardware and related equipment. Experience installing memory, installing and configuring hard drives, and network cards. Experience installing and maintaining printers and jet directs.
Additional skills/abilities:
Ability to troubleshoot problems on installed network devices. Ability to manage a stressful work environment related to changing priorities and critical support needs. Ability to travel to off-site locations. Ability to work any of three shifts on any rotation. Demonstrated ability to relate to all levels of the user community. Knowledge of Novell networks. Knowledge of NT.
