We are seeking a Director of Marketing Strategy to direct the marketing department.
Salary
The salary range for this role is $80,000.00 to $100,000.00 USD annually. The salary is based on the knowledge, skill, and ability of the candidate. A 10% bonus is available based on meeting both organizational and individual targets.
Purpose of Position
The Director of Marketing Strategy is responsible for all facets of the marketing department including the supervision of an Event Manager and Marketing Coordinator. This role is responsible for analyzing and understanding our target markets and using that information to maximize customer opportunity, generate leads, improve the brand, and be the industry leader. The position’s primary focus will be segmentation, targeting, and positioning (STP) in the market, and utilization of the marketing team to effectively market to those customers. This role is responsible for setting up reports through the company CRM, management of the department’s budget, and delivering effective presentations to the executive team. Top candidates will be able to analyze solar market trends, federal/state/local policies/programs, and competition. Position will communicate very closely with the sales team regarding marketing materials, targeting strategies, event planning, messaging, and customer acquisition methods.
Major Responsibilities of Position
- Segmentation, targeting, and positioning in solar markets Harvest has an interest in doing business in.
- Effectively manage direct reports on marketing team.
- Ownership of website includes optimization, development, and edits.
- Oversee selection and management of all company events & trade shows.
- Working with the sales team to monitor and “localize” the company’s marketing initiatives.
- Managing all marketing campaigns (traditional, digital, events, referral/word of mouth).
- Negotiate and establish contracts with marketing vendors.
- Generation and distribution of company press releases.
- Manage company marketing budget and spending activities.
- Give and receive feedback effectively with sales group in order to appropriately position the company.
- Make recommendations to company leadership for continuous improvement.
- Think outside the box and be creative – this is an emerging industry.
- Ability to utilize CRM to generate reports on marketing ROI’s.
- Ability to put together meaningful marketing reports and present to executive team periodically.
- Ability to interpret external government and utility policy.
- Ability to understand products in the renewable sector in order to target the right customers.
- Occasional travel and participation required for corporate events, industry events, and trade shows .
- Contribute to the team in areas of expertise, not necessarily in direct line with other duties.
- Develop creative ideas and coalitions to increase acceptance of products and help customers achieve their needs for renewable energy products.

- Ability to organize work and tasks to drive results for both themselves as well as the marketing team.
- Ability to interpret relevant industry codes / processes and understand products in a marketing and administrative capacity.
- Ability to mentor, develop and lead new marketing team members.
- Ability to understand and act effectively in a changing environment as both the industry and organization grow.
- Ability to understand and support a small expanding business by recognizing problems and bringing solutions to the forefront.
- Fluent use of Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.), email etiquette and ability to learn marketing/CRM software.

Educational and Certification Background
- Valid State Driver’s License, required.
- Bachelor’s degree (or greater) in a relevant field preferred (marketing, communications, business, etc.), required. Two years of directly related experience may substitute for one year of university degree.
- Three years’ marketing management experience required.
- Basic knowledge of the solar PV markets preferred.
