DuPont Industrial Solutions is seeking a Global Demand Manager. Industrial Solutions provide specialty industrial materials, including flexographic and digital printing materials, OLED materials and display process chemicals, silicones for healthcare and industrial applications, and precision parts and elastomers for semiconductor, industrial and automotive applications. The Industrial Solutions business has an exciting portfolio of material technologies and solutions that have the #1 or #2 leadership position across a diverse set of segments and end markets including semiconductor, displays, healthcare, transportation, aerospace, printing and packaging, and industrial.
The Global Demand Manager is accountable for leading a global team of demand management professionals and understanding all sources of demand for their businesses globally. Through their organization, they will manage and develop an accurate, unbiased demand plan at the appropriate levels, horizons and intervals for their business. The demand manager is accountable for monitoring the performance of the process and tools, continually improving output and accuracy, and driving best practices. They lead the demand management planning process which includes input from multiple sources including history, statistics, marketing, and sales. They are responsible to coordinate the demand management process for integrated business management, communicating between sales, marketing, finance, and supply chain teams.
Responsibilities
Lead overall demand management process ensuring strong collaboration and communication with the sales, product, marketing, finance, and supply chain functions. Ensure resources are available and processes are in place to provide inputs to the multi-view consensus process.
Accountable for the demand step of the Integrated Business Management (IBP) process while ensuring strong integration with the Product and Supply steps.
Manage the activities, performance, development, and capabilities of their demand team.
Accountable for tracking and driving improvement in the following key metrics: Forecast Accuracy, Mix Forecast Accuracy, Bias, Tracking Signal
Accountable for the coordination, prioritization and delivered results of improvement projects in the demand management process including collaboration with the E&I Continuous Improvement team on planning and reporting tool improvements and utilization (i.e. OMP, 360 Analytics).
Through the execution of the Demand team:
Accountable for creating and maintaining differentiated forecast strategies (DFS) for each IS line of business.
Accountable for identification, prioritization, and aggregation of all sources of demand in their Line of Business to support business planning, DIBM and supply planning.
Accountable for reviewing and understanding the market environment, trends, including leading indicators, and the impact on the demand plans for the business.
Accountable for the development, documentation, and maintenance of the assumptions supporting the demand plan. Challenge the sales and marketing assumptions as appropriate to ensure plan is unbiased.
Approve Demand Plan and product mix forecast developed by Demand Planner.
Identify issues and decisions and alternate scenarios regarding the Demand Plan.
Participate in the development and evaluation of what-if scenarios (simulations) to resolve demand/supply imbalances.
In collaboration with the Supply Chain Manager and Commercial Team, identify and develop risk mitigation strategies for abnormal demand, supply issues (including constrained supply), and customer requirements that are outside the capability of the supply chain to deliver.
Qualifications
Undergraduate business, supply chain, engineering, or related discipline degree
Sales and marketing and/or Supply Chain experience
Relevant experiences in demand planning, inventory management, operations, and supply chain management in a global company
Experience in leading a global team
Six Sigma Green Belt Certification
Industry Professional Training (Institute of Business Forecasting or APICS)
Proficiency with MS Excel, ERP, and Reporting systems for analyzing large data sets.
Working knowledge of ERP systems
Strong communication skills with strong leadership skills and the ability to manage by influence
Strong analytical acumen, ability to think critically at strategic levels and understand interdependencies between demand, supply, and operations.
Passionate and self-motivated to lead team to tackles issues and drive process improvements.
