Job Description
Position Summary:
MAG is looking for an entry level Pricing Analyst to work at our company headquarters in Fairfax, VA. This position will report directly to our Pricing Manager and be responsible for preparing timely, accurate, and compliant cost proposals.
The Pricing Analyst I will collaborate closely with multiple MAG personnel and possible Sub/Prime Contractor finance elements while generating pricing/cost narratives in our proposal response to Government Solicitations/Contracts. The ideal candidate will have an excellent understanding of proposal pricing within the DoD and related market segments, with sharp attention to detail and a keen awareness of current market conditions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties include, but not limited to
Works closely with Capture/Business Development, Contracts, Human Resources and Operations to ensure accuracy of cost proposals.
Develop compliant cost/price proposals to ensure they adhere to RFP requirements, the organization’s estimating system, and applicable U.S. Government procurement regulations (e.g. Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR)).
Works with the proposal team to develop cost volume schedules and supporting documentation to justify cost realism/reasonableness.
Participates in pricing reviews with upper management and coordinates with senior staff to determine pricing structure and strategy.
Responsible for creating internal and external price sheets.
Work with Primes and subcontractors during pricing proposal development.
Requirements:
Minimum Requirements
1 - 2 years of experience with pricing for Government Solicitations and Proposals.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel building formulas (INDEX, VLOOKUP, IF THEN summaries, etc).
Strong numerical and analytical skills.
Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of management.
Knowledge of:
How to dissect cost / pricing requirements out of a Government Solicitation.
Different contract, solicitation, and agreement types to include Time and Materials, Firm Fixed Price, and Cost Reimbursable contracts.
The FAR and ability to read and understand government contracts.
Knowledge of financial management concepts such as revenue, cost, profit etc.
Ability to work flexible hours when dictated by proposal deadlines.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, customer service and collaborative team environment.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or related field
