Position: Sales and Marketing – Social Media Coordinator
Department: Sales and Marketing
Location: Indianapolis, IN
Reports to: Aftermarket Sales and Marketing Manager
Job purpose
The role of this position is to support PWR’s sales and marketing initiatives by preparing relevant graphic and social content that reflects a positive company image, identifying and upholding consistent brand guidelines, and integrating that content across a broad scope of media platforms. This position is responsible for gathering, preparing, creating, posting, and maintaining a variety of graphic content and social media campaigns, regularly engaging with social activity that will help strengthen the PWR brand, and being a collective part of our overall strategy to increase aftermarket sales. While this role will be focused on increasing traffic across social channels, our website, and improving our customer engagement, it includes maintaining the PWR brand standards across all relevant content, both internal and external.
Duties and Responsibilities
Execute social media strategy through structured planning, platform benchmarking, and appropriate activation
Gather and create content that fits the company’s overall social media strategy
Collaborate with internal departments and customer contacts to gather and present positive messages about the PWR brand
Set up and optimize company pages within each platform to increase the visibility of company’s social content
Develop and maintain the social media calendar and reporting dashboards for PWR North America
Generate, edit, publish and share daily content (original text, images, video or HTML) that builds meaningful connections and encourages community members to engage
Understand the foundation/structure of the company web-site and spend moderate amount of time maintaining content specific to the website
Review, summarize and report social data/metrics on an ongoing basis
Execute and inform social media strategy and tactics for each channel and audience
Support Aftermarket event/display activity as needed
Travel as needed to gather relevant social content
Communicate and engage with followers and respond quickly to inquiries and queries
Contribute to research and identifying new and up to date strategies to grow brand awareness and engagement
Qualifications
Excellent imaging, writing, editing (photography/videography/text) skills
Adequate knowledge of web design and web development
Knowledge of promotion and ad campaigns
Positive attitude, detail and customer oriented with good multitasking and organizational ability
Ability to prepare social media reports/summaries, and effectively communicate findings verbally and in writing
Ability to interact with employees and suppliers in a professional manner
Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
Must have strong work ethic and uphold sense of urgency
Must be well organized and a self-starter
Must have strong attention to detail and possess the ability to follow direction
Education / Experience
2+ years of proven working experience in social media marketing or as a digital media specialist
Secondary degree in social media or communications preferred
Experience working across primary social platforms and knowledge of social analytics tools
Experience in using photography/videography equipment
Working Conditions
Position will work within a team atmosphere focused on bolstering current social media and marketing strategy while developing the new and innovative ways to reach our target audiences.
Position requires sitting, standing, and activity in a variety of setting (including inside PWR facility and outside events where PWR product is used).
Position is exposed to activity throughout a manufacturing/ machinery/shop setting.
Position is exposed to a shop/manufacturing environment where welding equipment and various machinery are used.
Physical Requirements
Able to perform physical tasks associated with a variety of conditions associated with gathering content, which may include, but not limited to:
Walking long distances
Sitting for 2-4 hours at a time
Standing for 2-4 hours at one time
Lift, carry, and set-up media equipment as needed
Must be capable of travel (including flying and driving) to event and tradeshow destinations
